Condominium Authority of Ontario (CAO) Customer Success
The Condominium Authority of Ontario (CAO) is a legislated organization that aims to improve condominium living by providing services and resources for condo owners, residents and directors.
They provide the following:
- easy-to-use information to help owners and residents understand their rights and responsibilities
- mandatory training for condo directors
- resources to help condo owners and residents resolve common issues
- an online dispute resolution service through the Condominium Authority Tribunal (CAT)
The SkillBuilder team responded to a Request for Proposal (RFP) from CAO requesting the development of a comprehensive condominium directors online program and the learning management system required to support and deliver the program.
The LMS had to have integration capability to support data transfer and single sign-on with their Dynamics CRM portal.
Our team utilized the SkillBuilder Learning Resource Development Process, which involved interviewing subject matter experts (SMEs) from the industry and creating comprehensive Learning Guides and Storyboards, which we leveraged for the development of the online courseware using the Articulate Suite. This final learning program consisted of 22 online modules, ranging in topics from board governance, dispute resolution, and condominium finances.
SkillBuilder® LMS was selected as the online program delivery application. This program is offered in both English and French, leveraging the multiple language capability of SkillBuilder® LMS.
Unique to this project is an integration with MS Dynamics CRM, leveraging both single sign-on and an API integration which passes data between SkillBuilder® LMS and Dynamics CRM.
Both the learning resources that were developed, as well as SkillBuilder® LMS, adhere to the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA).
Currently, CAO has nearly 63,000 course completions. They have also recently partnered with the SkillBuilder team to build six new online courses to support their Advanced Director Training Program on topics such as condominium finance, emergency planning and preparedness, condominium governance, issues management, procurement, and overseeing condominium managers.
The SkillBuilder team also continues to support CAO’s enhanced reporting requirements and data transfer to their Dynamics CRM portal per the Auditor General’s program recommendations.
